Victory Tower in Panama, a biomimetics benchmark

This project is characterized by fluid, rhythmic and precise forms, which also have favorable ventilation, luminosity and noise functionalities.

The overall design of the project was inspired by biomimetics, in which through the design of the 875 pieces that make it up, we gave life to an architectural reproduction similar to the hymenium of a fungus.

With Torre Victory, we faced three challenges: the first was the geometry of the facade, where in order to be able to recognize multiple pieces in different positions, we opted for a marking that would facilitate the assembly.

The second challenge was to connect the façade with the ceiling, taking into account the variations of the construction, since it required a minimum tolerance.

The third challenge was from production, thanks to our digital tools we sent the curves to the CNC machine and used attractor points to generate volume from the digital plane, additionally, we had to have a welding process in its fabrication, specifically for the front part of the corkscrew, with the objective of generating an appearance of greater volume.

In order to have a good result we had close communication with each production process, understanding the constraints, tolerance and tools of each machine. Thanks to our plugins we easily generated the installation plan to have the parts organized in the total area, and in addition to this, the software allowed us to design under process constraints, in which through tolerance alerts applied on the machine, we made it possible to carry out a design for manufacturing through digital fabrication, giving the customer peace of mind that what is displayed on the computer, will be exactly the same as in real life.
